First flying in 1948, the technological leap from the J21R to the Tunnen in just three years was enormous. The aircraft's swept wing technology made it one of the first to use this configuration. The information came from German technical documents the design team had seen in Switzerland and which the designers from the USA and Great Britain were unable to read!
