Can't I Go With Him - Bristol F.2b Fighter

£24.00

Bristol F.2B Fighter "Brisfit" First World War WWI 1914-1918 Aviation Art Print by Aviation Artist Roger H. Middlebrook GAvA

The Bristol Fighter gave the Royal Flying Corps an aircraft that could do just about any job asked of it. Designed by Frank Barnwell, its crews took some time to appreciate the fact that the aircraft could be thrown around the sky in much the same way as a single seater, but once they had it became one of the most effective aircraft of the First World War.

In the winter of 1917, a pair of Bristol F.2B are ran through final checks prior to start-up. In the foreground one of the crews mascot anxiously waits to bid its masters farewell on another sortie. The original painting won the Cross & Cockade award for best WWI work at the 2009 Guild of Aviation Artists annual exhibition and was sold at the same time.
