svensk flygkonst - Caproni Ca.313 utskrifter

A shortage of military aircraft before WWII began resulted in many emergency purchases with Italian aircraft becoming a surprising choice. Among those bought were the Fiat C.R 42 and the Caproni Ca.313, seen here. Known as the B-16 and S-16 in Swedish service, 84 of the aircraft were bought and served in the bombing, observation and liasion roles. Bought as bombers many were converted to the reconnaissance role, those seen here serving with the 31st Recce Squadron of 3rd Wing. Not really what the Air Force wanted the aircraft were replaced by SAAB B-17 in 1941. Thanks to Nils Bergqvist for additional information
