English Electric Canberra T.Mk.4 - 85 Squadron Original Aviation Art Painting by Aircraft Artist Roger H. Middlebrook GAvA

When Roland Beamont took the prototype to the skies for the first time in 1949 little could he have known that the aircraft would go on to become the longest serving aircraft with the Royal Air Force in its history.

English Electric's sleek bomber would become very much a post-war equivalent of the De Havilland Mosquito, performing a myriad of tasks including bomber, interdictor, reconnaissance and, as seen here, trainer. This particular aircraft comes from 85 Squadron, based at RAF Binbrook in the early 1970s.

This is the original oil on canvas board painting from which our prints are taken. It comes varnishe, framed and ready to hang. It measures 28.75" x 23" (73cm x 58cm)
