  • Fleet Defender De Havilland Sea Vixen - Framed Print

De havilland Sea Vixen 893 Squadron HMS Hermes Framed Aviation Art Print by Aviation Artist Chris French FGAvA

First shown at the Farnborough Air Show as the DH.110, the Sea Vixen went on to become the standard fleet fighter for most of the 1960s.

This particular aircraft, XJ571, is now preserved at the Solent Sky Museum in Southampton, Hampshire and was originally built as an FAW.1 in 1960. Converted to an FAW.2 in 1964, the aircraft would serve with numerous squadrons and carriers. She is seen here in her last colour scheme as serving on HMS Hermes as part of 893 Squadron. This is the scheme in which she can be seen today.
