Lockheed Constellation - Military Air Transport Service Painting by Aviation Artist Charles J. Thompson ASAA, GAvA

Such was the success of the Lockheed Constellation that the American military took it into service as both a cargo and VIP transport. Classified as the C-121 and VC-121 the aircraft was used by the Military Air Transport Service. Due to the luxury afforded and the sublime handling qualities the aircraft was well thought after, resulting in the painting’s title.
