Flying out, climbing as quickly as possible, the Spitfire Mk.I of 610 Squadron do their utmost to reach operational height before coming into contact with the enemy. Despite early warning systems, it was reckoned that the squadrons closest to the south coast had only two minutes to get airborne if they were to reach combat height in time to engage.
