Fokker F.27 Friendship - Aer Lingus
One of the greatest turbo-prop driven aircraft ever delivered, the Friendship prototype first flew in 1955. After slight modification it entered service with Aer Lingus in 1958, powered by the Rolls-Royce Dart Mk528 engine. While production ran to less than a thousand, including licence-produced aircraft in the USA, the aircraft is still in service with numerous Airlines and air forces around the globe. It has also spawned a second generation aircraft in the Fokker 50.
