Svenskt Flygkonst Utskrifter - Gloster Gladiator J8A

One of Britain’s export successes during the 1930s, the Gladiator served with distinction during WWII despite being outdated and outclassed by many opponents. The Flygvapnet used 55 of both Mk.I and Mk.II variants, being known as the J8 and J8A. These aircraft are from Flygflottilj 8 (F8), based at Barkaby in 1938 and are seen flying over Gripsholm Castle. In 1940 the Gladiator secured Sweden’s first aerial victory (of 10 scored) when 2/Lt Iacobi shot down a Russian Polikarpov I-15 while serving in the Russo/Finnish War.
