Heading For Home - Republic P-47D Thunderbolt
Republic P-47 Thunderbolt SEAC RAF Far East Aviation Art Print by Aircraft Artist Roger H. Middlebrook GAvA
South East Asia Command (SEAC) made use of many American types not flown by the British in Europe. The P-47 Thunderbolt was one such aircraft and served with squadrons in theatre. Used for fighter, interdiction and bombing sorties it was well suited to the terrain, though tactics had to be quickly evolved to combat the agile aircraft of the Japanese.
