Originally designed by Aerospatiale and first flown in 1974, the Squirrel has been a real winner and is still in production today. Produced in two versions the type is the main equipment of the Army and Navy contingent of the Defence Helicopter Flying School, based at RAF Shawbury.
This original Crayon and Gouache picture was completed as a detailed study in preparation for Roger’s painting ‘School Days’.
