Qantas Connie - Lockheed Constellation - QANTAS
Airliner Aviation Art Print of a QANTAS Lockheed Constellation by Aviation Artist Roger H. Middlebrok GAvA
On 28 July 1952 this Model 749 Constellation, named Charles Kinston Smith completed what was, at the time, the longest over-water flight completed. The 2,677 mile flight took place in two ‘hops’ between Perth, WA and Cook Island, then from Mauritius to Johannesburg. It was in preparation for the newly installed Australia to South Africa route which started in the September of that year.
