Sumatra Scramble - Hawker Hurricane

Hawker Hurricane Far East Art Print by Charles J. Thompson ASAA, GAvA

Greatly out-numbered and with inferior aircraft in support of their efforts, the pilots of the Hurricane squadrons based in the Far East had little chance of success in the defence of places such as Malaya, Singapore and as shown here Sumatra. Though less famous than the Spitfire it is in fact the Hurricane that can claim to have shot down the most enemy aircraft of any allied fighter.
