John Surtees Motorcycle Racing Art Print of the MV Agusta 500/4 during the 1957 Isle of Man Senior TT by Motorsport Artist Stuart Booth
One of the most natural riders of a motorcycle ever, John Surtees had already promised great things in the early 1950s by giving the likes of Geoff Duke and Bob McIntyre on the four-cylinder Gilera really close races while on the comparatively uncompetitive single cylinder Norton. When offered a ride on the four-cylinder MV Agusta, Surtees was able to use his exemplary skills on a motorcycle at least equal to the best around.
The mid-late 1950s were Surtees' years and he is seen here during the 1957 Isle of Man TT Senior TT in which he came 2nd. He had won the Senior in 1956 and would again in 1958, 1959 and 1960.
