Who are we and where did it all begin?
Hansen Fine Art was founded in 2012 when Lee Lacey GAvA had the idea of bringing together some of the exceptional talent within the Guild of Aviation Artists to create an online art gallery to produce their Aviation Art Prints and the Original Aviation Art Paintings from which they are reproduced .
The gallery began with five artists — Roger Middlebrook GAvA, Roger Murray AGAvA, Chris French FGAvA, John Hunter GAvA, and Lee himself. Over time, the collection grew, Hansen representing more than 40 professional and semi-professional artists at its peak.. Today, with natural retirements and the sad loss of some valued contributors, including our founder artists Roger H. Middlebrook GAvA and Roger Murray AGAvA, we proudly represent around 30 artists.
As the gallery expanded, so did the subjects. What started with Aviation Art soon grew to include transport art of every kind. Today, Hansen represents full members of the Guilds of Aviation, Railway and Motoring Artists, offering fine art prints that range from the Bristol Boxkite to Lando Norris' McLaren.
In addition to original artwork and art prints, Hansen has developed a growing range of greetings cards and Christmas cards. Our card range now spans a wide array of themes — from transport birthday cards to film quiz and dog-themed greetings cards.
A restructure in 2024 positioned Hansen for future growth, enabling us to expand our range of subjects and products even further. However, transport art will always remain at the heart of what we do — it’s where it all began.
We are deeply proud of our long-standing association with the Guild of Aviation Artists, having sponsored their annual exhibition several times. It is our hope that this support will help to ensure the Guild thrives for generations to come, inspiring new aviation artists to follow in the footsteps of legends such as Michael Turner FGAvA, Frank Wootton GAvA, Gerald Coulson GAvA, and John Young GAvA — artists who captured the spirit of flight and kept the memories of these wonderful machines alive.
Since our inception, Hansen artists have been commissioned by numerous companies and private collectors, Below is a selection of the organisations to whom we have provided original artwork, prints and bespoke greetings cards.
