This image was used on a Railway Poster by the Southern Railway (SR) advertising Ladies Golf in the South of England and on the Continent, the Railway operating cross channel ferry and over-night railway ferry operations to Europe.
Part of the lingering appeal of the 1930s is the superb artwork that went hand-in-hand with the advertising for pretty much anything. This birthday card is enhanced with embossed lettering and gold lining which accentuates this wonderful image.
