North American P-51D- 4th Fighter Group Birthday and Greeting Card by Stephen Brown
One of the greatest fighter aircraft ever built, the North American P-51 was first designed for a British specification. Later changes to engine and airframe resulted in the superb P-51D, what many would consider as the classic Mustang with the Packard Merlin engine, six .5" machine guns and bubble canopy.
Stephen Brown's superb aviation birthday card shows aircraft of the 4th Fighter Group in the beautiful German mountain regions. The 4th would end the war as the most successful group in terms of aerial and group victories, scoring over a thousand confirmed victories in just over two years.
