BOAC Short Sunderland 3 Limited Edition Aviation Art Print - Cape Town by Aviation Artist Darryl Legg
From early 1943, British Overseas Airways Corporation started to operate two routes to Lagos and Calcutta using six Short Sunderland maritime patrol aircraft converted to the transport role and later that year increased this fleet to 12, modifications to the aircraft resulting in a reasonable increase in performance. After the war BOAC operated a further seventeen aircraft and the name 'Hythe' was adopted for the type.
Darryl Legg's Limited Edition Aviation Art Print shows a Sunderland 3, or Hythe, as the type became known flying past the well-known background of Table Mountain in 1949.
Our LIMITED EDITION ART PRINT of only 50 COPIES has an image size of 14" x 10.25.
