Avro Lancaster 101 Squadron ABC WWII Aviation Art Print by Aviation Artist Paul Couper AGAvA

Moving to Ludford Magna in Lincolnshire during June 1943, 101 Squadron had for a number of years been one of the RAF's premier bomber squadrons, beginning operations with the Lancaster Mk.I/III on June 22/23.

The effective use of Window and then the electronic counter-measures Monica and Boozer showed that this type of technology could be used to reduce losses to enemy action, but the most important equipment to be used was Airborne Cigar otherwise known as ABC. Fitted with this equipment, 101 quickly became the RAF's counter-measures squadron.
