Waco UPS-7 at Panshangar Aerodrome Art Print by Aviation Artist Richard Wheatland
Inspiration for this painting was taken from sketches and photographs taken by myself at a Vintage Fly-in event at the Panshanger Aerodrome, near Welwyn, Hertfordshire, just to the North of London in 2012.
I
was attracted by the wonderful period colour scheme and intricate reflections
under the top wing. Painted as a lone subject on a fairly simple background,
the painting is predominantly green and too many different greens in a painting
is not ideal. I’ve tried to keep within the same range of greens even in my
rendition of the grass.
