RAF Republic Thunderbolt Aviation Art Print by Darryl Legg

Lend-Lease Jug - The P-47 with the RAF

An RAF razorback Thunderbolt I of 135 Sqn and two Thunderbolt II of 31 Sqn attack Japanese supply routes while operating out of Chittagong, India in 1944.

Over 800 Republic P-47 Thunderbolts were to be supplied to the RAF during the war, all of them seeing service in the Far East. Nine squadrons would see combat with the type, while a number of others were re-equipping with the aircraft at the end of the war

This piece is a wonderful tribute to a little known chapter in WWII aviation history and the P-47, the most-produced American fighter of WWII
