Curtiss Kittyhawk 112 Squadron Aviation Art Limited Edition Print by Aviation Artist Darryl Legg

112 Squadron flew the P-40 in its various Tomahawk and Kittyhawk guises from mid 1941 and as such became the most famous British unit to use the aircraft. The aircraft were quickly adorned with Sharks Teeth and these stayed with the unit, appearing on later Mustangs and into the jet age with both the Vampire and Sabre. 

These Kittyhawks are seen getting airborne from their airstrip in 1942.

Artist Darryl Legg has been experimenting with a new, looser style for his most recent works and this certainly helps to capture the action and movement involved aerial combat in this theatre.
