Just as Boeing airliners evolved, Britannia Airways evolved into Thomson Airways (now TUI). Britannia took delivery of the 737 in 1968 and they were the first UK airline to operate the type. Similarly, Thomson was the first UK airline to take delivery of the 787 in 2013.
