Handley Page Halifax - 158 Squadron

£29.00

Though not as capable as the Lancaster in terms of bomb-load, the Handley Page Halifax nevertheless formed an important patnership with the Avro aircraft. Used extensively by the Canadian’s, French and Coastal Command the crews of the Halifax could go into battle knowing that they had the best survival rate of any aircrew in Bomber Command.

Today just one complete example remains, at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington. This machine, made from the parts of several airframes and remanufactured components is painted to represent the aircraft shown, “Friday The 13th” of 158 Squadron
