Hawker Hunter 56 Squadron Aviation Art Print by Artist Richard Wheatland
The artist does many demonstrations at art exhibitions and motor and aviation shows and this painting starting life at one of these, the "Wings & Wheels" show at Dunsfold near Guildford in Surrey.
As a subject , few could argue about the suitability of the Hunter, it being the most successful British jet of the post war era. Although an air superiority fighter with the RAF for a relatively short time, it was to serve well into the 1990s with other air forces.
Here the artist depicts two 56 aircraft in around 1957.
