The Lockheed TriStar entered service with the RAF in four variants covering the tanker and military passenger/cargo roles. A total of nine aircraft were acquired from both British Airways and Pan-Am and all served with 216 Squadron up until 2014 when the aircraft was replaced by the Airbus A330.
