Blackburn Beverley Original Oil Painting by Artist Paul Couper AGAvA
Production of the Beverley began in 1954 and was a joint venture between General Aviation Limited and Blackburn. By the time production ended, 49 aircraft had been built and they served until replaced by the C-130 Hercules in 1967. The aircraft entered service with 47 Squadron at RAF Abingdon in March 1956.
