Despite being built as a high-level nuclear bomber, the Avro Vulcan proved a success at low-level too. Aided greatly by its huge delta shaped wing that gave it excellent agility, the Vulcan was as manoeuvrable as many smaller fighters.
Seen in the Green and Grey camouflage of the 1970s onward, some aircraft were painted in the wrap-around scheme while others retained a single colour grey underside. This is the scheme that today’s airworthy Vulcan, XH558 wears.
