Nostalgic Heritage Aviation Birthday Card

This card evokes the spirit of Britain in the 1920s and 1930s when Britain was at the forefront of aviation technology. The nation’s participation in the Schneider Trophy  produced a frenzy of interest in all things aviation and aero meets and displays were always popular, whether run by private ventures or the RAF itself at places like RAF Hendon (now site of the RAF Museum).

Today it is still possible to experience the thrill of a 1930s airshow as many of the types exist at the Shuttleworth Collection, Biggleswade in Bedforshire. Three of the types preserved there are shown in the painting. These are from L to R De Havilland DH.60 Gypsy Moth, B A Swallow 2 and De Havilland Rapide.

Kevin Walsh’s Aviation Themed Birthday card would be highly suited to anyone with a passion for aviation or aircraft in general.
