Velocette Venom Thruxton Motorbike Christmas Card by Motorcycle Artist Lee Lacey GAvA
The last great British single in production, the Thruxton was a development of Velocette's earlier Venom and would stay in production until 1971. As a 500cc single it was quite old in concept by the time of its release in the 1960s yet astonished the racing world with a superb performance in winning the production Isle of Man TT race. With its stylish Silver Grey and Dark Blue paintwork, the Thruxton also departed from the company's more traditional black and gold livery. As with most of the other Velocette models, the Thruxton was equipped with fishtail exhausts as standard which give a wonderful and distinctive sound.
