With the name still being used in the 2020s, the GSX-R750 or 'Gixxer' has become an icon of modern motorcycling. Introduced in 1985, the motorcycle has been continuously upgraded and changed over from air to liquid cooling in 1992. The 'Slingshot' name comes from the Slingshot carburettors used in the 1988-1992 models.
