Steam Train Greetings Cards- BR J15 0-6-0 Freight Engine
The 0-6-0 tender engine became a standard small freight locomotive during the latter part of the nineteenth century and a good number of these original designs were still in existence towards the end of steam in Britain. Here an ex GER J15 rumbles along while a Saturday afternoon football match takes place. A small boy decides to avoid the entrance fee and stands on the gate to peer over the retaining wall and get his ‘footie’ fix for free.
This charming railway birthday / greeting card from a painting by Malcolm Root is ideal for anyone who may have grown up in East Anglia during this time, were they the boy standing on the fence?
