Railway Steam Locomotive Birthday Card - LMS Jubilee Class 5596 Bahamas
Stanier's 3-Cylinder "Jubilee" class locomotives were first introduced in 1934. Upon entering servic a number of initial teething troubles were identified, but soon remedied and the locomotives became an important part of the LMS and BR roster until the end of steam. The locomotives took their names from famous British heroes, dominions and warships, 5596 taking her name from the Islands in the West indies.
