The greatest achievement by the steam preservation movement is, in the author's humble opinion, the production from scratch of a new A1 class Peppercorn pacific. 60163 'Tornado' has gone on to become a real 'star' and instantly recognisable in whichever scheme she is seen in. 

In Robin Pinnock's Railway Greetings and Birthday she is seen in the Apple Green with 'BRITISH RAILWAYS' on the tender.

In John Austin's Railway Card, ideal for a Birthday or Father's Day, the locomotive is seen at Durham on metals that her classmates made their own during the 1950s and 1960s. The city's famous cathedral can be seen in the background
