The Fordson E27N, or Major as it has became known, was only ever meant to be a stop-gap machine, yet became the backbone of British farming for several decades before being superseded by the New Major and Super Major Produced at Ford's Dagenham works from 1945-1952, the type has grown to become one of the most iconic tractors used in Britain.
