AA Land Rover Recovery Vehicle Riley Falcon Christmas Card by Paul Atchinson
The AA Patrolman has been
a continuous site on British road, since the beginning of motorised transport.
First on motorcycles and sidecars, the AA Patrol man was to begin a long
association with Land Rover when the Series I first entered service with the
company in 1948 for night work in London. The vehicle proved such a success
that in 1952, the company bought a further large order with consecutive 'MYR'
number plates.
The car to which the
patrolman is coming to aid is a 1937 Riley Falcon, which obviously finds the
chilly Christmas weather not to its liking.
