The Globemaster has been the RAF's principal long range, heavy-lift strategic transport aircraft since 2001. This highly capable aircraft can transport over 45,000kg of freight more than 8,000 km. Its ability to execute high-angle, steep approaches at relatively slow speeds allows it to operate into small, austere airfields with short runways, often essential for landing near the area of operations.
