Railway Steam Locomotive Birthday Card - A4 Class 60028 Walter K. Whigham by Railway Artist Malcolm Root FGRA
During the war Britain's railways were stretched to breaking point and subsequently needed rebuilding.
>Nationalisation in 1948 brought with it some attractive experimental liveries, as shown here on A4 60028 Walter K. Whigham, seen making a spirited departure from King's Cross station. These liveries would be short lived, though a second blue adorned express passenger locomotives from 1949 until the early 1950s when the more familiar Brunswick Green was applied.
