HMS Kedleston M1153 Ton Class Minesweeper Royal Navy Warship Art Print by Artist Chris French GAvA
HMS Kedelston (M1153) makes way on a windy ocean. One of 119 ton-class minesweepers built for the Royal Navy in the 1950s, the ships were largely constructed from aluminium and other non-ferromagnetic materials, with a wooden hull to minimise the risk of triggering magnetic mines.
Completed in 1955, Kedleston was built by William Pickergill Ltd, Sunderland and served in a variety of duties until sold from scrap in 1992..
