£24.00

HMS Serapis British Royal Navy Troop Ship Art Print Painting by Naval Artist Roger H. Middlebrook GAvA

In 1875 HMS Serapis transported the Prince Of Wales (from 1901 Edward VII) on a state trip to India representing Queen Victoria. The journey was made significantly quicker by travelling through the Suez Canal, to this day one of the busiest shipping routes in the world.

The Serapis and her sisters were the worlds first purpose-built troop ships and were to sal until the beginning of the twentieth century.
