In the 1930’s racing large yachts known as the J
class was a popular pastime amongst wealthy businessmen and industrialists such
as Tommy Sopwith. The painting shows the
three yachts that have survived to the present day, they are front to rear:-
Velsheda, Endeavour and Shamrock V ’partly hidden’.
