Cunard Steamer Scotia Marine Ocean Liner Art Print by Roy Cross RSMA, GAvA
Launched
in 1862 the 3871 ton Scotia carried 570 passengers, all in first class
accommodation. Her maiden voyage was on 10th May 1862 and she held both west
and eastbound records for some six years
In Roy Cross' painting, the powerful Cunard steamer, capable of 14 knots, races past a bluff trading brig on her way across the Atlantic. By this time screw propulsion was beginning to replace paddle-wheels, certainly on the main long-distance routes.
Roy Cross' Limited Edition Art Print come in two image sizes, 16" and 22". They are limited to only 50 copies of each size. They are numbered but unsigned.
