The Avro Super Trader, sometimes referred to as the Tudor Super Trader was an air freight version of the Avro Tudor. Utilising many parts of the Lincoln bomber, the Tudor was not a great success as a passenger airliner owing to its limited passenger capacity and tail-wheel undercarriage, which was increasingly being seen as out of date for civil aircraft. Air Charter Ltd bought four Tudor IV aircraft and modified them into freighters by provision of cargo doors and re-engining with Merlin 23 engines.
