Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX TR.9 BS410 Pleasure Flight Aviation Art Print by Artist Paul Couper GAvA

For any aviation enthusiast, the ability to fly in one of our favourite aircraft must be the ultimate experience. In the UK it is now possible to take flights in aircraft such as the de Havilland Tiger Moth, North American Harvard, Hawker Hurricane and, as shown here, the Supermarine Spitfire.

This particular Spitfire Mk.IX, BS410 was allocated to 315 (Polish) Squadron in 1943 and after participating in 35 sorties she was lost in combat after her cooling system was damaged. The wreck was recovered after 62 years and a long, painstaking restoration began to return the aircraft to the skies, this time in the TR9 configuration and now flies from Solent Airport.

Paul's beautiful rendition shows her over the Needles.
