Railway Train Steam Locomotive Birthday Card featuring 5069 Isambard Kingdom Brunel from a painting by John Austin GRA
The Great Western 'Castle' Class 4-6-0 did not only take their names from forts. A number were named for Earls and other gentry, while several commemorated aircraft of the RAF. This particular example, 5069, is named after the legendary engineer who did so much in the early years of Railways, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The locomotive is seen at Saltash, Cornwall with the River Tamar in the background
