One of the true greats of British steam, the mixed traffic Class 5 was a real workhorse and were built in truly outstanding numbers with over 800 made. Despite this success, and in-keeping with their use as the workshorse rather than racehorse, only a minority were named. The thrill of seeing these rare beasts led to the nickname of "Blackie Namer". This locomotive is 45157 "Glasgow Highlander".
