Somerset and Dorset Railway Blank Fathers Day Birthday Card by John Austin FGRA
Still extremely much missed to this day, the “Pines Express” ran
between Manchester and Bournemouth from 1910 until 1967.
The top express to move over Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway
metals, the service could be pulled by a number of different locomotives. Here
we see ex-LMS Stanier Black 5 no. 45440, a Bath Green Park engine from 1948 to
1958. The locomotive was withdrawn in September 1967.
This card is blank for your own message and would make an exceptional blank Birthday card for someone with a love of the Great Western
Railway.
