Blank Birthday Greetings Card showing a Burrell Fairground Engine by Malcolm Root FGRA
For much of the 20th century, traction and showman's engines could be seen providing the power for rides at fun-fairs. Built to the highest standards, the engines would then be hand painted in some wonderfully decorative schemes, such as this example, Burrell built "Pride of the South", also known as "Princess Royal". This particular engine, builders number 2879 was built in 1907.
