part-view focusing on of the cockpit of a 1957 Maserati 250F this was the type
of car raced by Fangio in period, and many are still racing in historic events
today. Most of this painting was done on my stand at the annual Race Retro
exhibition at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. I do like to paint at exhibitions,
light and conditions permitting. I find that it is popular with the visiting
public, a reason to engage in conversation with people and gives a sense of
genuine authenticity to what I do.
