A Great Western Railway 'King' class , No.6024
'King Edward I' hard at work on Dainton Bank, just west of Newton Abbot
in Devon in charge of the Paddington to West of England express. The year is
1947, the last year before the big four railway companies of Great Britain were
nationalised. This locomotive is one of three to be saved from the cutter's
torch and has been beautifully restored by the dedicated team of the 6024
Preservation Society.
